Session 1: Overview of Aristar AIS Staff Training Program
Program Objective:
- To provide information, background, history, vision/mission, and the organization’s philosophy
- To introduce you to the school governing board, management and key staff members
- To provide you with the exploration into the development of our program/curriculum that we currently offer to our students
- To give you the knowledge and exploring into our major teaching and learning pedagogy namely “Interactive Program” that we are used to driving our student learning
This training program is divided into four main sessions:
Session 1:
Overview of the Aristar AIS Staff Training Program. During this session, you would be exploring into the school’s background, history, set- up, vision/mission, and philosophy. You will get to know the organization structure, the management team together with key staff and the key factor of success in driving our organization. It will cover the policy & procedure of our operation as well. In this session, you require to read the “About Aristar AIS” PowerPoint presentation slide under the resource link section and then respond to the formative assessment given at the end of the session.
Session 2:
During this session, you will be exploring our learning program that we offer to our students which includes the kindergarten program that was developed based on the early year learning framework of Australia (EYLF) as well as the Australian National Curriculum namely “ACARA” that we use to develop our school curriculum. This session will also cover the implementing part of the curriculum into the daily delivery of your class which are the Unit Plan and the Lesson Plan that you require to develop for your ongoing teaching class. In this session, you require to watch the VDO link and read the PDF learning resources to visualize and gain the key concept of the EYLF and ACARA then conduct the formative assessment as per the given instruction to confirm your understanding of the EYLF and ACARA principles
Session 3:
In this session, you would introduce our school teaching & learning pedagogy that we use to drive the success of our program namely “Interactive Learning”. You would experience the Interactive Learning teaching methodology in detail and practice this teaching method. In this session, you require to watch the VDO link and read the PDF learning resources to get an idea of interactive learning and how it could be applied to your teaching lesson. You require to participate in the formative assessment task at the end of this session.
Session 4:
It would involve a training program summary and assessment activity that you require to participate in order to finalize our training program. Up on completion of this session, you require to participate in the summative assessment program as per instruction provided.
The program facilitator will be available for discussion via chat box to discuss your learning question concern between 5-6 PM on Fridays for the first two weeks of the program schedule.
